A GSM Landscape v.0.1.5 explores the surrounding mobile phone landscape thanks to a cellphone. This one is scanning the frequency bands allocated to GSM and looking for cell towers and communications from users. The visualisation and sonification of this data reveal the spectral space produced by the network activity, usually imperceptible and superimposed to our private and public spaces.
A GSM Landscape v.0.1.5 is the first element in a series of installations and performances dealing with cellular telecommunications and surveillance.
